I recently had a set of dining room chairs reupholstered and they look beautiful! The set was from the 1970s and they look brand new again and they are very comfortable now. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for excellent work and friendly service!
WORST EVER DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! My parents gave them a chair to reupholster in March 2013 and still have not recieved the chair back. They have also cashed a deposit check and have made them wait around for a deliery of the chair that never happened. Bob has been rude and have lied several times. I would call this HORRIBLE BUSINESS ETHICS by taking money and peoples belongings and making them a promise and never returning their BELONGINGS. They have contacted an attorney also and still nothing.
About four years ago I called them to re upholster my sofa and two chairs. I told them that we were moving out of state and it had to be done before we moved. They told us it would be done in three weeks. Nine weeks later and after many calls and rude remarks by employees and my husband threatening the owner with a law suit because our furniture was high end we got our sofa and chairs back only to realize they used the wrong fabric. If you value customer service and quality please do not waste your money on these people they are the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with.
The only thing I can attribute the positive comments to-for this company- is that the people are either related or on the payroll. Great Lakes Re-Upholstery could not be any worse or more disfunctional in the areas of customer service and communication. PLEASE think twice before using them!
They had my DINING ROOM TABLE since September 17th with a 3 week return promise and a guarantee that I would have it for the Thanksgiving holidays. After repeated phone calls and promises to get it completed and returned to me I finally got a promised return date in mid-DECEMBER. I took vacation time from work to wait at home all afternoon on the promised return date. Out of concern, I tried to call before 5PM as they had not yet shown up but did not get an answer to be able to verify that they were still planning on delivering my table. I then had to call again the following day because they didn’t show up. At that time they told me that they had me confused with another client. They then stated that my table was a laminate that they could not repair and would return it—albeit another week later! Again, I had to take more time off work for the delivery and because my table had been sitting in their warehouse since September the table was ABSOLUTELY FILTHY - even though the owner had promised to clean it before returning it!!! I was beyond words! I wrote the BBB and offer words of wisdom here....... This company should come with a HUGH warning label. ONLY consider using them if you have exhausted other options, don't need the furniture, and include penalty discount fees for mis-communication and missed delivery dates. BY NO MEANS SHOULD YOU PAY VERY MUCH UP FRONT. YOU WILL NEED THE PENALTY LEVERAGE FOR WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO EXPERIENCE. If you choose to move forward with them........ GOOD LUCK!!!!
They did an excellent job on my sofa and 6 dining room chairs. the price was right and the fabric is really durable. I would highly recomend them to anybody!
they did an excellent job on my dining rooms chairs and my living room chair. they took an extra week but it was well worth the wait. if your looking for an excellent job its worth the wait!
i have had several different pieces done and they all look great! the first item was a sofa back in 91 and to this day it still looks fine. i had a table refinished as well and i recieve several comments on it every time i have company over.i would highly recomend them to anyone.
Very Bad Service Experience – I paid $1300 for reupholstering six chairs. Three of the chairs wobble on my wood floor something they did not do before. I have called almost weekly since about beginning of March and the answer has been the same. " I will call you one day next week and come over." Depending on how BOB feels he sometimes replaces his otherwise empty offer of service with " some customers put some felt under the legs themselves"
The actual stuffing of the chairs was good but the service has soured everything for me.
I think Bob must rely strictly on non-repeat business because I do not think any customer will go back.
I do not like to urge patronage or lack of patronage for any business but if you do business with this business please ask if you are getting ANY warranty with their work. some warranties are implied in law but I do not believe it makes any difference to BOB!
worst service EVER!!! – Found co. name in local flyer, they came to pick up chairs with a $300.00 minimum, and told me 3 weeks. After 5 wks I started to call co. they had many reasons the chairs weren't finished but never called to update me. It took almost 3 months to get my chairs back, after several calls, I even waited around my house a couple of times because they said they were coming over. The owner Robert and I had a few words after notifiying him of my unhappiness and I was demanding my chairs. The owner was rude, and yelling at ME on the phone saying that "he wouldn't waste $50.00 in gas to come out this way just for me, he told me I was getting a deal on my chairs for what he did, he told me he didn't call me to let me know the days he wasn't coming because he didn't want a confertation. I had never been rude to him or anyother employees, he apparently has had problems with his service in the past. I told him "you should not be yelling at me when I am the unhappy customer", I called his co. "unprofessional", and then he really started yelling at me. I demanded my chairs the following week, he did show up, and stated "I made a special delivery", he told my husband "If we do not have business on this side of town, we don't come out". The way I see it , I was his business and he shouldn't advertise in other communities if he can't deliver the service promised. He was lucky that he showed that day, Ruth to the Rescue was interested in my story (buyer beware). There is also another woman from my work (I found out), who is still waiting for two pillows and some trim for her couch, she has waited more than three months, I am going to contact her to see if she want's to contact channel 4. This guy needs to be put out of business, hopefully word gets around, it was a HORRIBLE experience!!!!!!!!!
Worst Customer Service Ever!!! – I have been referring clients to this company for the past year and recently needed to get a quote for a small upholstery repair for a showroom piece. After requesting service and trying to receive a quote, the owner hung up on me several times and refused to help me in any way becuase they do not do any repairs. I found him to be extremely unprofessional and after all of the great business I have sent him he was most inappreciative. I will no longer be referring any clients to this company and I highly recommend anyone looking to use them for their re-upholstery to seek out someone else who treats customers with respect and appreciates your business as a valued client.
